Survival Status
The Snow Leopard is an endangered species. There is only about 4,500-7,500 Snow leopards living in mountains of Central Asia. People are helping the Snow Leopards by putting the leopards in the zoo. They think it will help because they would feed the leopards and the leopards would not have to worry about hunting and not being able to catch their food. Since they are in the zoo they can not starve to death. People can also help by donating to snowleopardtrust.com.
Conservation
Some reasons of why Snow Leopards are endangered are because of poaching, loss of habitat, mining and lack of resources. People also kill the poor Snow Leopards for their fur. People tear down forests for trees which makes it hard for Snow Leopards to find shelter. Some people mine today searching for coal to make energy for our homes. They dig holes in the ground making it harder for Snow Leopards to find space without finding humans living there. People take resources that are needed for Snow Leopards to survive.
